Ok. In this tutorial, you will learn how to make an "exploding star" signature.
You need these things before beginning:
1) A basic understanding of how photoshop works ;) .
2) Some "brushes". They include:
->a. Con's "grunge" brushes. You can download them here: FileFront
->b. Con's "lighting & star" brushes. Download them here: FileFront
After you download some grunge brushes, (put them in My Documents or something)
then in photoshop click on your brush tool, then click the little blue arrow ont the toolbar,
then click Replace Brushes on the menu. Find your brishes that you downloaded and
double click them. Then you will have a whole bunch of new "grunge" style brushes to use.
You are wecome to post your result (without even registering) and you

Now we're ready to begin. I'll be using a 400x125 px large blank picture.
Step 1
______________________________________________________________
Set your foreground (A) color to a fairly dark color (i used # 393169) and
then set your background color to white (B ). Next, go to the main toolbar.
Click Filter > Render > Clouds. You should then see something liike this:

Step 2
______________________________________________________________
Create a new layer (Layer > New > New Layer) on the main toolbar.
Then select your brush tool (on left toolbar) And make sure you replace the
brushes with "congrunge" brush pack. Look at the picture above to do that.

Then select a brush from the menu, and start clicking, and brushing all over
the new layer (look at the picture above.. You can lower the opacity of the
layer, so it doesn't get too dark (using your basic photoshop skills ;) ).
You should now have something that looks like this:
Step 3
______________________________________________________________
Create another new layer.
Now, replace your current brushes with "conlightingandstar" (one of the brushes
you downloaded earlier). These brushes have star-like and bright type designs.
Select a brighter shade of purple (if you are using the same colors as me use
# 9A67E5).
On the little layer box on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen, select the
little drop-down menu, and click the option called "Color Dodge". Look Below.

Now with your star brushes, stamp all over in the center of your image. You'll
notice that it creates bright blobs in the middle... giving it an explosion effect.
Pretty cool, eh? So this should be what it relatively looks like now:

Step 4
_____________________________________________________________
Once again, create a new layer.
Set your foreground color to white. Then on the little layer box, set the blending
mode to Overlay (Do it the same way you set it to "Color Dodge" in step 3 and
look at the picture again if you need to). Repeat like you did above, by stamping
with your star and lighting brushes in the center. You should now notice that it
starts making really brigt spots on the picture. This is what the main explosion
looks like. Also play around with it to stamp some little small particles in your image
to make it look like it's throwing all sorts of debris. That's it! you're done! Your
finished result should look like this:

DONE!
Good Luck! Remember that this works good with any dark color, with some
bright colors to make the explostion in the center. Be creative! If you would like to
add a border, click here: http://s4.invisionfree.com/Cody7sDesigns/index.php?showtopic=23 to view my grunge tutorial. Simply scroll to the bottom to
where it says Borders and follow the instructions.
